WeMilap is a free companion for expo and trade-fair visitors, and a lead platform for exhibitors and organizers. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and the choices you have — including your rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”).
Allied Biztech Solutions Pvt Ltd is the Data Fiduciary responsible for personal data processed through WeMilap. For any privacy question, contact us at privacy@wemilap.com, or our Grievance Officer (Section 11).
We use a small number of first-party cookies that are strictly necessary to run the Service — chiefly the guest identifier and sign-in session. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Community-built event guides are compiled from information organisers publish (event details and published exhibitor listings). Where these include an individual’s name in a business capacity, we process it to help visitors find and navigate the event, on the basis of legitimate use, and we honour requests to correct or remove it (see Section 10 and the Terms, Section 9). We do not build advertising profiles from this data.
To run the companion (plans, wayfinding, answers, follows), to match you to relevant exhibitors, to operate paid accounts and payments, to secure and improve the Service, and — only with your explicit consent — to pass a lead to a specific exhibitor. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Your behavioural intent stays with you until you act. Personal data reaches an exhibitor only when you tap “share my interest” for that booth. Each share is a discrete, logged consent for a single stated purpose: follow-up by that exhibitor. You can withdraw consent at any time, including by erasing your data (below); withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
We share your details only with (a) the exhibitors you explicitly choose, for the consented follow-up, and (b) service providers (processors) who run the Service on our behalf under contract — for example hosting/infrastructure, email delivery, and payment processing. Organizers receive aggregate, non-identifying pipeline metrics for their show unless you consented to a specific exhibitor. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We keep intent and consent records for as long as needed to provide the Service and to give exhibitors a reasonable follow-up window, after which they are minimised or deleted. Account and transaction records are kept as long as required for the account and for legal, tax and accounting obligations. You can erase your visitor data at any time.
Identifiers are stored in httpOnly cookies; API access is authenticated and rate-limited; entitlements are enforced server-side; and we minimise the personal data we hold. No method is perfectly secure. In the event of a personal-data breach that is likely to affect you, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected users as required by the DPDP Act.
Under the DPDP Act you may access a summary of your personal data, correct or complete it, erase it, withdraw consent, nominate another person to exercise your rights, and lodge a grievance. Use the controls below, or write to privacy@wemilap.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
Under India’s DPDP Act you can access or erase your personal data at any time.
As required by the DPDP Act and the IT Rules, 2021, our Grievance Officer can be reached at grievance@wemilap.com. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
WeMilap is a business tool intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We aim to process and store data in India. Where a processor operates outside India, we transfer data only in a manner permitted by the DPDP Act and subject to appropriate safeguards.
We will update this page and the “last updated” date when this policy changes, and notify you of material changes.
